Once again this year, Team Metis Vela UniPd took part in the 1001VELAcup with two boats made from sustainable materials, finishing in fourth and eighth place. It also took part in the Match Race regatta and won third place in the award for best design. Supported by the University of Padua, the team is now open to new members for future challenges.
From 1 to 5 October, Bellano (LC) will host the 2025 edition of the 1001VelaCup, the international regatta that every year brings together the best university teams, with boats designed and built by students. Among the protagonists is the Mètis Vela team from the University of Padua, winner of the last two editions and the Paolo Padova trophy.
The University of Padua achieved a distinguished fourth-place finish in the second edition of the Alma Mater Chess Tournament, an international university competition held in Bologna from September 12 to 14, 2025. Furthermore, our student Giorgio Belli was honoured with the award for “Best Italian Chess Player,” highlighting the strong performance and high standards of the UniPD Chess Club team.
