Gender pay scale equity survey

Italian law regulates the regulatory and remuneration framework for university employees by guaranteeing equity in the pay scale, pursuant to Article 45 of Legislative Decree 165/2001, cannot be differentiated between men and women on an equal contractual basis. However, the University of Padua includes in its Gender Equality Report some indicators aimed at monitoring specific aspects that determine pay gaps. These include the pay gap between men and women five years after graduation (cf. Report on Gender Equality 2020-2022, p. 30-31), the percentage of women at different stages of the academic career and the distribution of fringe pay between male and female employees (both academic and administrative), as well as the Glass Ceiling Index (cf. p. 34-41 and 61-63).
