Study Centre for Environmental Challenges – SCEC

SCEC’s goal is to  promote research and innovation for the environment, in tune with the needs of the local territory and in response to major environmental global emergencies. Its areas of interest include, for example: the conservation and regeneration of the environment, from mountain to the sea; the development of creative technological and management solutions applied to ecosystem services; slowing and reversing processes of erosion of genetic biodiversity, species andecosystems; the development of technologies and approaches for the sustainability of terrestrial and aquatic environments, and much more.

Centre for Climate Change Impact Studies

CRITICAL was founded in order to contribute to risk assessment,  study of territorial changes and creation of climate projections. Its intention is also to create infrastructures with High Performance Computing (HPC), Cloud and Big Data technologies and, last but not least, to become a provider of “climate services” for the University’s research groups and local, national and international bodies, which will be able to use the data generated in their decision-making processes. Thus considered, CRITICAL ‘s ambition and mission are to become a landmark on the topic of climate change and its concrete risks and impacts, with a focus on italian and Veneto territory.
