Volunteers for Education: the Save the Children project to assist children and teenagers with learning

TheVolunteers for Educationproject(conceived by Save the Children) is looking for new volunteers to give support and assistance to children and teenagers during their school years.
The invitation is extended to students at the University of Paduawhobelieve strongly in educationand wish to combat lack of education and lower school drop-out rates, promoting access to high-quality education for all.
In fact, all it takes is a PC, a reliable internet connection and a desire to be proactive, in order to make a practical contribution to the future of many young people.
How to take part:
- Availability required.To take part as a volunteer, it is necessary to be availableat least twice a week, for 1.5 hours each time (a minimum total of3 hours per week)between Monday and Friday in the afternoon (2-6.30pm). At the registration stage, the volunteer can indicate his/her availability in terms of time and preferred age group.
- Training. All volunteers will be provided with two training periods (compulsory) before beginning their voluntary work, in order to be fully prepared to help their students. The first session, carried out online at the time of your choice, will last 4 hours; the second will last 2 hours and consists of a live webinar, allowing you to speak directly to the staff. Finally, volunteers will be followed and supported during their workby the education team of Save the Children.
- Volunteers will be given the chance to attendan advanced training session (optional) on topics such as Teaching Italian as an L2 Language, support for students with SLD/SEN, digital learning, the psychosocial approach to classroom relations, teaching of STEM subjects, and support for exam preparation (e.g. end of middle school diploma). All content may be accessed by volunteers signing up to the project during the year, provided they are registered.
