The Ministry of Universities and Research supports the psychological well-being of the university community

The Ministry of Universities and Research (Mur) has awarded a€1,600,000 grant to a partnership of universities led by the University of Padua to promote psychological well-being projects for female students.
The project, calledUniversity Students Health (UNIST – HEALTH), involves several initiatives, includingmonitoring psychological well-being through an online survey. Sarà anche developed, an app to support those in clinical pathways, dealing with new addictions, anxiety disorders and depression. In addition, it will introduced the figure of the ‘psychological health ambassador’, students/tutors who will promote psychological well-being among themselves.
‘This funding from the MUR complements the funds that our university – which is particularly attentive and sensitive to issues of well-being – already allocates to projects aimed at the protection and psychological support of its students,’ commentsClaudio Gentili, professor and director of the University Clinical Psychological Services Centre (SCUP).
InPadua, in particular, actions will be taken to support female students with blocked academic careers, i.e. those who are unable to talk about theirdifficulties in their academic career and who may therefore find themselves in psychological distress. Furthermore, services for international students from critical or emergency situations, whether caused by natural disasters or geopolitical instability,will be enhanced.
