Gli Scholares Vagantes alla Settimana Europea della Mobilità 2023

In the context of the European Mobility Week from 16 to 22 September 2023, the cycling groupScholares Vagantesis organising a bicycle tour to promote sustainable mobility and sport, and will touch on several locations of the University of Padua along the way.

Specifically, the group, created in 2022 as part of the celebrations for the 800th anniversary of the University of Padua, on the occasion of the cycling relay among the oldest European universities, and composed of lecturers, university staff and the student body, will leave Padua on Thursday 21 September 2023for Chioggia, where there will be a meeting with representatives of the ‘Giuseppe Olivi’ Museum of Adriatic Zoology and the ‘Umberto D’Ancona’ Hydrobiological Station. This will be followed on Friday 22 September by a stop in Rovigo, where a meeting will be held between the Vagantes, the municipal administration, Fiab Rovigo, the Rovigo University Consortium, and the Dante Alighieri Society Rovigo Committee.

On Saturday, 23 September, there will be a double event: the four members of the cycling relay team will close the route by cycling from Rovigo to Padua, while a second group of 12 participants will carry out a day trip from Vicenza to Padua, involving the Department of Technique and Management of Industrial Systems of the University of Padua in the city of Vicenza.

Finally, both groupswill convergearound 3 p.m. on Saturday 23 September in the Cortile Nuovo of the Palazzo del Bo, in Padua, where they will be welcomed by the university’s Vice rector for wellness and sport Antonio Paoli, the Vice Rector of Decentralized Branch Policies Paolo Sambo, the deputy mayor Andrea Micalizzi and the city community present.

Participation in the final ceremony is free and open to all.

For those who wish, it is still possible to join the one-day excursion from Vicenza to Padua, or alternatively, accompany the Vagantes into the city, departing at 2.30 p.m. from the Bassanello bridge.
