Giretto d’Italia 2025: the University of Padua is among the participants in the sustainable mobility challenge

Once again this year, the Municipality of Padua is participating in European Sustainable Mobility Week, a Europe-wide initiative to promote more sustainable lifestyles and travel. Among the organisations involved is the University of Padua, which is taking part in one of the programme’s flagship initiatives: “Il Giretto d’Italia”, a national challenge between cities involving cycling and light electric mobility.
Specifically, it is a friendly competition between Italian cities that rewards the highest number of sustainable journeys between home and work and home and school made by bicycle or electric micro-mobility vehicles (scooters, e-bikes, monowheels, hoverboards, Segways, electric scooters, etc.).
To participate, simply travel to the university using sustainable transport and pass through one of the official checkpoints during the monitoring time slot.
The survey in Padua will take place on the morning of Thursday, 18 September 2025, between 7:00 and 10:00. Users who travel to university using sustainable modes of transport and pass through one of the designated checkpoints will contribute to the overall travel count.
The city with the highest number of passages will be declared the winner of the competition.
