Call for proposals for the Higher Education Summit 2024 – open until 7 April
The annual appointment with the international conference “Higher Education Summit” makes a stop in 2024 at the University of Padua with the theme “Co-creating change for sustainability”. The event, organised by the University in collaboration with Copernicus Alliance, will take place on 8-10 September 2024 in the Botanical Garden (conference presentation) and in the lecture halls of Palazzo del Bo (on 9-10 September).
The international association Copernicus, established in 1993, is based on a network of European universities and higher education institutions working together to identify and respond to the challenges facing the world of higher education in the pursuit of sustainable development goals.
In orienting their mission towards sustainability, educational institutions such as universities are called upon to question the most appropriate transformations to be implemented. The purpose is to make a positive impact on communities and to trigger a significant change of course, while maintaining a “whole-institution” approach, by integrating the principles of Education for Sustainable Development in a systemic and harmonious way..
Meetings and events within the conference will allow for reflection on the ways in which this approach can be linked to various dimensions of education, such as pedagogy and learning, curriculum, community connections, skill building, institutional practices and vision, ethics, leadership and coordination.
The conference is, therefore, conceived as anopportunity for training and knowledge building in cultural and scientific terms, a space in which to generate networks between local and international organisations, professionals and amateurs from different backgrounds and ages (i.e., students, teaching staff, researchers, associations and institutions). It is an opportunity for discussions and debates on the topic with a view to jointly developing a common cultural mindset focused on ensuring sustainability in the future.
All persons interested in the topics of sustainability and education, such as education experts, teaching staff or researchers, but also and above all students and graduates, can actively participate in the initiative by proposing their own contribution, based on one of the following four formats:
- organising teaching and learning workshops;
- presenting a paper;
- organising a dedicated space for networking;
- conducting a collective intelligence workshop.
The deadline for submitting contributions is 7 April 2024, by filling in the dedicated form for abstracts.
All the details on how to participate and structure your contribution are described on the page dedicated to the Higher Education Summit event.
