Agorà delle Scienze: on 26 September, Unipd research will be presented at the inaugural event of the Science4All festival

Palazzo del Bo, the historic headquarters of the University of Padua, will host the ‘Agorà delle scienze’ (Science Forum) on 26 September, starting at 5 p.m. This event marks the opening of Padua’s science festival, ‘Science4All’.
The public is therefore invited to participate in the marathon of talks featuring 20 scientists from the University involved in research and innovation projects funded by the Ministry of University and Research through the PNRR – Next Generation EU.
During the event, researchers will talk first-hand about the challenges they face in their respective fields of study and the results achieved so far, offering a concrete overview of how Italian science is helping to improve everyday life.
The initiative was conceived as a way of giving back to the community: an opportunity to share visions, objectives and impacts of contemporary research in an open dialogue between academia and the public.
The event programme is divided into three main thematic areas: health, environment and sustainability, technology and innovation.
The first part, starting at 5 p.m., will be entirely dedicated to the topic of health, with a series of presentations addressing the issue from different perspectives: personalised medicine, digital prevention, neuroscience, and advanced therapies. The session will be opened by Antonio Parbonetti, Vice-Rector of the University, followed by presentations by experts involved in nationally significant projects such as DARE, iNEST, EBRAINS, Age-It, INF-ACT and ELIXIR.
Next, at around 6 p.m., the focus will shift to the environment and sustainability. Researchers working at national centres of excellence will talk about how their activities are helping to shape a more resilient and sustainable future, addressing issues related to innovative agriculture, biodiversity conservation, energy transition and climate change.
The third part, starting at 6.30 pm, will be dedicated to technology. Cutting-edge research will be presented in the fields of supercomputing, future telecommunications, sustainable mobility, circular manufacturing and nuclear fusion. A journey into the heart of Italian scientific and technological innovation.
Alongside the marathon of talks, a multimedia and interactive installation will be active throughout the event, allowing the public to listen to and watch short research stories through digital avatars, which will guide visitors on an immersive experience through virtual laboratories and new frontiers of science.
The event is free and open to everyone, both in person (upon reservation) and online via live streaming.
In case of adverse weather conditions, the talks will take place inside the Nievo Hall of Palazzo del Bo.
