Active students for the safeguard of Venice: crowdfunding starts

From December 13, 2021 starts acrowdfunding campaignto finance the project“Mobilization for the climate: active students for the preservation of Venice”, winner of the selection of the Banca Etica’s Impatto+ Call for Proposals. The fundraising will end on February 13, 2022 and will be used to cover most of the costs of the project carried out by the association The Student Engagement Team Padova APS (SET Padova) with the intent to involve in an educational, creative and practical process Paduan students aged 15 to 19 years in the protection of the city of Venice and its lagoon.
The project includes four phases, which will take place between April and December 2022, during which it will be used an educational tool (toolkit) for the involvement of children, through the schools of Padua, in the path of active awareness to environmental protection, and, in particular, to the problem of rising sea levels in the Venetian context.
Thetoolkit, developed by SET researchers and with the contribution of the University of Padua during the course Rethinking climate change: the Venice Paradigm within the European university consortium Arqus, consists of three modules of an hour and a half each (Engage,Investigate,Act) and a field mobilization experience. It is also based on the Challenge-Based Learning methodology, which, in the context of informal and experiential learning, empowers individual students and their communities by encouraging them to propose and implement solutions to problems they personally experience.
The total cost of the project is 5,860 euros: the goal of the crowdfunding campaign is to raise 4,395 euros, exactly 75% of the total, as required by the rules of the Call.
We are therefore looking for organizations, institutions and other possible stakeholders interested in funding.
