A questionnaire investigating home-university travel with a view to sustainability

The University of Padua is promoting the 2023 survey on the academic community’s mobility in order to map the home-university travel of students, teaching/research staff and technical-administrative personnel, highlighting characteristics and any critical points.
The survey, sponsored by the University Network for Sustainable Development – RUS, is part of the research initiatives organised by the National Centre for Sustainable Mobility (MOST), established to create sustainable mobility demand and supply. The University of Padua is a partner of this Centre, along with 24 other Italian universities and research centres.
Mapping journeys is useful to explore and analyse the habits of the university community, and to assess possible changes, such as interest in the use of MaaS (Mobility as a Service) services, based on a concept of shared mobility, not solely linked to individual ownership of a vehicle, but based on the actual needs of those who use it. Furthermore, the outcome of the survey will be used to draw up the University’s Home-University Travel Plan (PSCU), an essential tool for planning not only teaching and working activities related to the university, but also public transport and road access to university sites, with a view to improving both the urban environment and the transition towards sustainability.
The cooperation of the entire academic community is crucial to gather information for the survey. You can fill out the Home-University Sustainable Mobility Questionnaireby 31 January 2024.
