Equal opportunities offices and referees

Delegate for Equal Opportunities Policies 

The Rector of the University of Padova is assisted by vice rectors and delegates, who collaborate by carrying out service activities, in implementation of the decisions of the University Organs and in close collaboration with the central administration and the structures of the University, respecting their respective prerogatives and responsibilities.

In October 2021, Professor Gaya Spolverato was nominated Delegate for Equal Opportunities Policies.

The Delegate’s main responsibilities include:

  •  the promotion of interventions and actions geared toward fostering an environment that is inclusive and open to valuing diversity;
  •  the coordination of activities for the drafting of the Gender Balance Sheet and the Gender Equality Plan;
  • the promotion of actions oriented toward combating all forms of discrimination, promoting well-being within the community University’s professional community;
  • the dissemination of the culture on equality also through the organization of conferences and meetings on issues consistent with the delegation;
  • coordination of initiatives with other Centers and Bodies of the University active in the field of equal opportunities.

Equal Opportunity Contact Persons in the Departments

Each Department of the University has identified two contact persons, belonging to both the faculty and technical and administrative staff components, who liaise with the Equal Opportunity Policy Delegate and the central administration to co-design gender equality initiatives, solutions and activities.

Public Engagement Office

Within the Public Engagement Office, the  Engagement and Sustainability Sector coordinates and promotes sustainability, inclusion and social innovation actions in the University and in the territory; implements actions to promote sports, wellness, equal opportunities and gender equality.
