The University of Padua receives the Compraverde Veneto award for the renovation project of the “Casa dello studente Fusinato”

Accessibility, safety, environmental impact and energy saving: sustainability that makes the difference.
Today in Venice Compraverde Veneto awarded a prize to the University of Padua for the recovery and redevelopment project of the “Casa dello Studente A. Fusinato”, the future residence for students of the Galileiana School in via Marzolo in Padua, during the 5th edition of the Regional Forum of green purchasing.
The project envisages the construction of 187 lodgings for university students, of various types and sizes, complete with accessory spaces, with particular consideration for aesthetic and functional characteristics, accessibility, safety and environmental impact.
The motivation for the Compraverde Veneto Award – Education section – reads: “The call deals with a multiplicity of aspects of sustainability in construction, enhances certifications and environmental comfort, and provides incentives to introduce aspects that improve on the Building CAM – DM 11 October 2017, which is a particularly complex product category in its application”.
The prize was collected by Unipd Sustainability Prorector Francesca da Porto and the University’s Director General Alberto Scuttari, who commented: “The University of Padua has adopted the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and translated them into concrete actions in its Charter of Sustainability Commitments. The result of these commitments is summarised by the fact that the University of Padua is simultaneously growing and reducing its carbon footprint. The University of Padua is also the only Italian university that uses the ISO 14064:2018 standard for this measure, certified by a third party. In this context, the renovation of the Fusinato residence is a sustainable intervention because it rehabilitates a historical and listed building, upgrading that university area of the city of Padua, it uses green technologies reducing energy consumption and respecting the environment, it has no impact on student fees because the renovation is fully financed by a contribution of about 12 million won by the University by participating in a call for tenders by the Ministry, and it contributes to the creation of a sustainable culture by hosting the students of the Galilean School of Advanced Studies of the University”.
