Decarbonisation: challenges and opportunities of the ecological transition

The Department of Economics and Business Sciences ‘Marco Fanno’ of the University of Padua is organising a conference dedicated to decarbonisation policies on Tuesday, 30 September 2025, at 9:00 a.m., at the Archivio Antico of Palazzo del Bo in Padua.
The initiative is aimed at students, researchers, policy makers and interested citizens, with the aim of exploring the main challenges and opportunities related to the ecological transition.
The day will begin with a lecture entitled ‘Climate Change Economics’, given by Robert O. Mendelsohn, Edwin Weyerhaeuser Davis Professor Emeritus of Forest Policy and Economics at Yale University (USA).
The event will be introduced by institutional greetings from Francesca da Porto, Vice-Rector for Sustainability at the University of Padua; Paola Valbonesi, Director of the Department of Economics and Business Sciences; and Giovanni Caggiano, President of the Master’s Degree Programme in Applied Economics.
The conference will continue in the afternoon, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (in Italian), with a session entitled ‘CO₂ reduction policies: the contribution of Spoke 6 and the Amelia platform (GRINS project)’.
