Energy transition at the centre of the closing event of the Festival of Sustainable Development 2025

The rich programme of events of the Festival of Sustainable Development 2025 closes with a reflection on the theme of energy transition, which represents an important opportunity to promote a circular economic system, just as the growth of renewable sources can be a very important lever for the development of an industrial production and recycling chain in our country and in Europe.

The event, entitled ‘The Energy Transition Lever for the Circular Economy’, is scheduled for 27 May, from 4.30 p.m. in the Sala delle Edicole of the Palazzo del Capitanio. 3.

After the institutional greetings of Francesca da Porto, Vice-Rector for Sustainability at the University of Padua, Antonio Santocono, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Padua and Unioncamere Veneto, and Giorgio Santini, President of AsVeSS, Maria Cristina Lavagnolo, CEWMS Study Centre – Circular Economy, Waste, Materials and Sustainability, Andrea Trovò, Department of Industrial Engineering, and Davide Pettenella, Department of Land and Agro-Forestry Systems, will introduce the topic from a technical-scientific point of view; the speakers are coordinated by Francesca da Porto, University of Padua.

This will be followed by a round table with institutional, economic and social realities that will see the participation of Antonio Santocono, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Padua and Unioncamere Veneto, Gianpaolo Bottacin, Councillor for the Environment – Climate – Civil Protection – Hydrogeological Disaster of the Veneto Region, Eleonora Rizzuto, Aisec – Italian Association for the Development of the Circular Economy and ASVIS Goal 12 coordinator, Tiziano Bonato, head of the research and development laboratory of SESA SpA, and Luigi Zen, Technical Manager of the Eco-PV Consortium.
