Unipd among the world’s top 200 universities for sustainability: UI GreenMetric 2024 results published

The University of Padua was ranked 195th in the world in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2024, confirming the trend of the four previous editions in which it took part, in which it was always in the top two hundred positions.

On a national level, on the other hand, the University of Padua was ranked 11th, thus achieving a significant result, considering that, compared to last year, 294 more university institutions were assessed globally: from 1,183 in 2023 to 1,477 in 2024.

In particular, out of the 39 indicators considered, divided into six specific areas, significant results were recorded in the areas of ‘Waste’, with 1,575 points out of a total of 1,800, ‘Water’, with a score of 850 out of 1,000, and ‘Education and Research’ with 1,750 points out of 1,800.

In the other areas, the University achieved the following scores: 1,000 points out of 1,500 for ‘Environment and Infrastructure’, 1,650 points out of 2,100 for ‘Energy and Climate Change’, 1,200 points out of 1,800 for ‘Transport’.
