PioveGo: waste’s journey becomes circular art

From 12 to 14 December, the Sala Kobal in Porta Portello, Padua, will host PioveGo – Circular Waste in Motion, one of the initiatives selected by the call for Innovative Projects for Students at the University of Padua 2025.
The project, conceived by an interdisciplinary group of students of Environmental Engineering, Biology and Archaeology at the University of Padua, with the involvement of the IUAV in Venice, stems from the collection of waste found in the Piovego canal and its subsequent selection, cleaning and transformation into new artistic forms according to a fully circular approach.
In collaboration with the Portello Association, the objects obtained from recycled materials and reworked using 3D printing are presented to the public in an exhibition set up in the Sala Kobal.
The exhibition recounts the entire process of recovering plastic waste from the city’s canals, integrating scientific analysis, material characterisation and environmental data with the stages of transformation and valorisation. Visitors can thus follow every step of the project closely: from the results of local surveys to the potential of circular processes applied to the materials collected.
Opening hours
12 and 13 December: 9.00–17.00
14 December: 9.00–12.00
