On the afternoon of Tuesday, October 28, the Sala della Carità in Padua will host a meeting promoted by the Centro Levi Cases of the University of Padua, dedicated to the risks and costs — environmental and economic — of a slow energy transition.
Although more renewable energy plants are installed every year, the pace of the transition remains insufficient to achieve national and international targets and to contain the rise in global warming.
The event, open to the public upon registration, will feature several leading experts in the field, who will analyze scenarios, strategies, and the consequences of delays in decarbonization.
Scheduled speakers:
Carlo Carraro (Ca’ Foscari University of Venice): “Energy transition: how much it costs to do it, how much it costs not to do it or to delay it”
Maurizio Delfanti (Politecnico di Milano): “Possible pathways of the energy transition in Sardinia”
Luciano Lavecchia (Bank of Italy): “The transition will not be a gala dinner”
Student association Catharsis: presentation of the survey “Mitigation of climate change: students’ attitudes”
Free admission upon registration
