Creation of the Interuniversity Research Center on Agroecosystems (CIRCULAR)

After having collaborated for many years, the University of Padua and the universities of Turin, Florence, Perugia, Sassari and Catania have chosen to establish the Interuniversity Research Center on Agroecosystems (CIRCULAR), an organization whose primary purpose is to promote participation in scientific, experimental, and digital activities in the field of study and management of agro-ecosystems with a view to the sustainability of the Planet.
As already happens in other areas of research, such as physics and astronomy, the establishment of the Center will allow the networking of knowledge and resources, coordinating the activities of individual research groups, defining common protocols of analysis and making experiments more easily accessible to external researchers.
“With the birth of CIRCULAR” explains Professor Antonio Berti, proposed by the Department of Agronomy Animal Food Natural Resources and Environment – DAFNAE of the University of Padua for the role of coordinator of the Operating Unit and member of the Management Committee of the Center,“it is possible to make more efficient the experiments in place.increasing the competitiveness of our universities on an international level. Each of the universities involved is a leader in a specific field, and coordination should allow everyone to advance more quickly, including through access to most innovative technologies.“
