Well-being and Prevention in the Urban Environment: The Padua Case Study of the RESONATE European Project starts

Are you between 40 and 70 years old and leading a sedentary or stressful lifestyle? You may be at risk of metabolic syndrome – a condition that is becoming increasingly common in urban areas. If you want to improve your physical and mental well-being in a natural way, this project is for you.
Padua is one of three European cities selected, along with Salzburg (Austria) and Barcelona (Spain), for an international study conducted as part of the RESONATE project, which explores the benefits of nature-based therapies.
What is it all about?
The project studies the positive effects of guided frequentation of urban green areas, combined with moments of relaxation and mindfulness, targeting people at risk of metabolic syndrome (high blood pressure, high blood sugar and triglycerides, large waistline). The objective? To promote health, balance and quality of life.
In the case study of Padua, the University of Padua, in collaboration with Etifor, selected a number of city parks considered, on the basis of scientific criteria, to be particularly effective in generating beneficial effects on wellbeing.
What are we going to do together?
The programme includes:
15 outdoor sessions, spread over 5 weeks (3 times a week)
Routes of about 40-50 minutes each, with light walking, relaxation techniques and mindfulness activities
Measuring certain physiological and psychological parameters to understand the real effects of nature on health
Participation is completely free of charge and also open to those who are not residents of Padua, as long as they can be present in the city for the activities.
Why participate?
If you move little, rarely frequent parks or natural environments, and have one or more risk factors (such as sedentariness, poor diet, hypertension, high blood sugar, smoking), this experience could significantly improve your health.
In previous editions of the project, many participants reported:
Stress reduction
Improved mood and sleep
More energy and motivation to move
How to participate?
The first group will start on 9 September 2025, but registration is already open and places are limited!
