Sustainable mobility<\/h1>\n

The University of Padua carries out numerous actions to promote and incentivise sustainable mobility, also through collaboration with the municipalities in which it is located and transport companies, and the activation of conventions and discounts reserved for the university community.
In addition, the University conducts analysis and monitoring activities on the mobility habits of its community, carrying out specific surveys.<\/p>\n

Initiatives for the promotion of sustainable mobility in the University<\/h3>\n

Promoting sustainable mobility also means guiding people’s daily habits. With this goal, the University has implemented various initiatives to facilitate the use of sustainable transport<\/strong> by its community.
Furthermore, for service needs, it has chosen low-emission vehicles<\/strong> such as hybrid cars, or zero-emission vehicles such as bicycles – electric and non-electric – and electric scooters. Specifically, on December 17, 2024, the Board of Directors decided to proceed with the centralized leasing of 24 electric vehicles and the installation of twenty charging stations. These initiatives will be implemented over a period of three years.<\/p>\n

Initiatives in favor of the use of bicycles<\/h3>\n

Those who choose to use the bicycle to go to university can count on the free marking service<\/a> organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Padua, now also extended to scooters. In addition, from November 2022 there will be a large reserved bicycle parking space for staff in the city centre. Discounts for local public transport<\/h3>\n

The University has chosen to facilitate access to local public transport for technical and administrative staff by committing to advance the total amount of annual<\/strong> passes requested by employees, in order to allow each applicant to benefit from the reduction provided for on the annual pass ( corresponding to approximately two months), without having to bear the initial investment. The amount is in fact recovered with monthly deductions from the salary.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, from 2018, as part of the supplementary welfare agreement, up to 50% of the value of subscriptions to local<\/strong>, regional and inter-regional public transport that staff use for the home \/ work journey is reimbursed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Since 2019, on-call evening and night bus service has been activated<\/strong> thanks to the collaboration of the University, the Municipality of Padua and the Busitalia Veneto transport company. This service, known as Nightbus, now Quibus <\/a>\u00a0was designed to support the mobility of young people, and more. The action was awarded by Legambiente <\/a>as part of the Green Train initiative.<\/p>\n

Discounts for sharing services<\/h3>\n

The university community can also enjoy benefits on the use of electric scooter sharing services in the local area.<\/p>\n

The University currently has an agreement<\/strong> in place for the use of electric scooters from EmTransit Srl \u2013 Servizio DOTT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
