The “Sustainable UniPadova” Project<\/h1>\n

The University of Padua has created and promoted the “Sustainable UniPadova”<\/strong>project, as a container and catalyst for initiatives aimed at sustainability.
“Sustainable UniPadova” Project<\/strong> aims, on the one hand, to coordinate and give visibility to all the actions organized by the University on the subject of sustainability, involving the entire university community, from students and staff to the governing bodies; on the other hand, it promotes and supports the launch of new initiatives, the development and implementation of good practices, their transfer and dissemination within the university community and outside, on the territory.<\/p>\n

Vision and Mission<\/h3>\n

It is precisely in accordance with its own tradition, which dates back to 1222 and is summarized in the motto “Universa Universis Patavina Libertas”, that the University “promotes the development of a culture based on universal values such as human rights, peace, environmental protection and international solidarity “(art. 2 of the Statute).
In line with this vision, it reaffirms its central role as a public body and promoter of sustainable development in its three main areas: economic growth<\/strong>, inclusion<\/strong> and gender equality<\/strong>, environmental protection<\/strong>.
This commitment, with the contribution of the various components of the university community, is expressed in the areas in which the University carries out its teaching<\/strong>, research<\/strong> and third mission<\/strong> functions.<\/p>\n

“The Universities for Sustainability” Manifesto<\/h3>\n

With the “Sustainable UniPadova” project , the University of Padua contributes to promoting the role of universities as agents of social and economic transformation in the national and international context, in line with the Universities for Sustainability Manifesto, drawn up at the end of the 2019 CRUI Magnificent Meetings.<\/p>\n

ANVUR awards the UniPadova Sustainable project<\/h3>\n

As part of the Research Quality Assessment (VQR) 2015-2019, ANVUR (Agenzia Nazionale di Valutazione del Sistema Universitario e della Ricerca) invited universities to submit a limited number of case studies related to Third Mission activities.
Within this framework, the ‘UniPadova Sostenibile’ project was assessed as ‘excellent and extremely relevant’, so much so as to be
proposed by ANVUR as a reference model for other universities with the following motivation: ‘The governance of the UniPadova Sostenibile project is highly innovative, effective, and proves to be a best practice at national level’.<\/p>\n

Sustainability contact persons in departments<\/h3>\n

As part of the \u201cSustainable UniPadova\u201d project<\/strong>, the introduction of sustainability policies and goals into the governance of the University, through the Strategic Plan<\/strong> and the Performance Plan<\/strong>, as well as with the Sustainability Commitments Charter<\/strong><\/a>, will require an increasing involvement of the Departments and other structures of the University.
With this in mind, in the first half of 2024, 32 sustainability referees<\/strong> were identified in the various departments<\/strong>, coordinated by the Vice-Chancellor with responsibility for sustainability<\/strong>. The aim of establishing sustainability referees in the departments is to<\/p>\n

– make departments aware of the University’s good practices, measures and actions, as well as encourage and support their introduction, with due specificity, at department level<\/p>\n

– bring to light and share departmental needs and best practices; contribute to the creation of new positive actions that can then be implemented or reproduced at the University level; report any inefficiencies or improvements to be introduced;<\/p>\n

– propose, coordinate and support initiatives to raise awareness among the Athenaeum population;<\/p>\n

– create a network of active individuals who play the role of \u2018ambassadors\u2019, enabling the dissemination of knowledge and the linking of policies, the implementation of harmonised actions between departments and between departments and the central administration, and mutual collaboration.<\/p> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\t <\/div>\n\t \t<\/div>\n\t\t <\/div>\n\t \n\t<\/div>\n\t\n\t\t\n\t
