Relay of Sustainable Communities: environmental education through a video!

The first stage of the ‘Sustainable Communities Relay 2024/2025’ kicked off during the national event of the World Environmental Education Congress – WEEC, now being held in Ischia until 4 October and dedicated to the theme: ‘Environmental education and community: how environmental education promotes community spirit and local sustainable development processes’.

This initiative is part of the actions for World Environmental Education Day, which is celebrated on 14 October, and aims to promote and highlight the importance of environmental education as a driver of sustainable development and community cohesion.

Throughout the month of October, the relay will continue in virtual form.

For this reason, schools, parks, associations, committees, local authorities, universities, environmental protection agencies, informal groups and organisations of various kinds are invited to actively participate in the initiative.

How to take part:

• present an experience in which the role of environmental education emerges in developing common vision, sense of community, positive action for the environment, nature protection and restoration, transformative learning, sustainability skills, etc.
• do this by sending a pre-recorded video in landscape format and of good quality, lasting up to 20 minutes;
• the video must contain the 2024 Day logo, which will be provided following the completion of the application form;
• must be accompanied by the required disclaimers and a declaration of liability;

The content will be broadcast throughout October on the WEEC Network social channels, on the WeecnetworkTV YouTube channel and promoted through the rivistaeco.it website and our newsletter.
