On Monday 16 January, the Manifesto for the Commitment to the realisation of Renewable and Supportive Energy Communities ‘Padova 2030’, promoted by the Municipality of Padua, was signed.
The Manifesto for the commitment to create renewable and supportive energy communities “Padua 2030”, promoted by the Municipality of Padua, was signed on Monday, 16 January.
The Manifesto was also signed by the University of Padua and by numerous organisations and associations that, by doing so, mutually commit to the creation of Renewable and Supportive Energy Communities (Cers), and to set up a technical round table, coordinated by the Energy Manager’s office of the Municipality of Padua. The round table represents the adhering bodies in the various discussions required for scientific investigations and for interaction with the competent authorities in the field of energy regulation.
In addition to the University of Padua, the Manifesto is endorsed by the Chamber of Commerce, Confindustria Veneto Est, Confapi Padua, Coldiretti Padua, Asvess, Csv of Padua and Rovigo, Upa-Confartigianato, Oipe-Italian Observatory on Energy Poverty, Confagricoltura, Ascom and the Diocese of Padua.
Francesca da Porto, Pro-Rector for Sustainability at the University of Padua, says: “For us, signing this Manifesto is strategic. Firstly, it responds to the University’s remarkable commitment to promoting initiatives with a strong social impact; secondly, it is an essential initiative for the University’s direct commitment to sustainability, which is also expressed in studies and research, also underpinned by two strategic players, such as the Levi Cases Centres and the Italian Observatory on Energy Poverty. Furthermore, our commitment to sustainability issues is manifested in the policies of our Energy Plan and actions aimed at ecological transition and the reduction of emissions. Hence, we welcome the University’s involvement not only for its strong competences, but also in the practical implementation of these initiatives.
The Manifesto can be consulted by all and is available at this link.
